The Exotic SH cat is part of the Persian cat family that was developed to have the desirable traits and looks of a Persian but not the required daily maintenance to keep the cat’s coat looking amazing.
The major difference between the Persian and the Exotic SH cat is the hair on the exotic cat. The coat on an Exotic cat is short, dense, plush, and thick so that they have a rounded and soft “teddy bear” look that is easily maintained and does not mat or tangle.
Exotic SH cats are great pets that provides lots of love, affection, privacy, and play time for everyone in your home. Males do tend to be more affectionate than the females but since Exotics mature later than other breeds, spaying or neutering the cats at an early age works to eliminate those bad tendencies that adult cats tend to have with territorial marking, etc.

We look forward to seeing you at a Cat Show!

A cat show is composed of a number of separate, concurrently running, individual shows held in the various judging rings throughout a show hall. Each ring is presided over by a different judge, who presents his or her own awards independent of the decisions of other judges. Hence, a cat which is chosen Best in Show by the judge in Ring 1, may not always be given the same award by the judge in Ring 2.

Every cat entered in the show is evaluated by each judge, and judged according to a written standard for its breed . The standard is part blueprint because it describes the ideal Exotic Shorthair cat. A breed standard is precise enough to allow judges to evaluate cats accurately, and flexible enough to leave room for differences in interpretation between judges of keen eye and good intention.

After a judge has examined all the cats in the all-breed competition – or all the cats of similar coat length (or type) if he or she is doing a specialty show – it is time for finals: the curtain call wherein the judge presents the top ten cats in show. The moment every cat breeder lives for is that moment of exhilaration when your cat is held aloft and proclaimed “Best Cat in Show”!

While you're at a show, we encourage you to make time and walk through the exhibitor isles and view the top cats for each breed. The exhibitors spend vast amounts of grooming time to properly prepare their animal for the show ring. They will also have great tips on how to help groom your cat or kitten at home.
Remember though that these animals travel a lot and are more than pets. So please resist the urge to touch or pet the animal without the owners permission.
Also, after petting or touching one of the show animals, wash your hands with soap and water or use hand disinfectant before touch another animal. Many germs and diseases can be spread from touching animals so we do our best to keep them safe during the show.

Most all of the shows we attend have a costume contest for the exhibitors. It's a fun way for the exhibitors to dress up their animals in various costumes to see who has the cutest cat ever.
Our babies are adopted quickly, so reach out to reserve your furever friend or to ask any questions.
